The story behind The Busy Bee Initiative

The name Busy Bee Initiative comes from a nickname that was given to me by my nieces. To
family, friends, and those who know me well, I am known as simply “Bee.”

Like a bee within a hive, the name represents persistence, purpose, and quiet but meaningful
work. Bees may be small, but their role is powerful — each one contributing to something
much larger than themselves. In the same spirit, The Busy Bee Initiative is built on the idea
that small conversations, honest reflections, and shared experiences can collectively create
meaningful change.

Through my personal writings and lived experience of navigating life with cerebral palsy, I
work steadily — like a busy bee — gathering thoughts, observations, and experiences from
everyday life. With the help of artificial intelligence, those reflections are transformed into
podcast conversations that carry these experiences beyond the page and out into the wider
world.

The Busy Bee Initiative hopes to create a space where people can listen, learn, reflect, and
better understand disability, accessibility, and the importance of inclusion.
What began as a simple nickname has grown into a platform for awareness, advocacy, and
conversation — proving that even the smallest voice, when shared, can help build something
far greater.

Nothing about us without us.
